Glebe Island Ferry Terminal

A purpose-built ferry terminal pontoon providing access to the Sydney Exhibition Centre during major events. The facility was designed to accommodate high passenger volumes while ensuring safe and efficient vessel interface in a busy harbour environment.

Design & Construction

The 20m x 9m pontoon was engineered for stability and heavy pedestrian loading. Constructed with a reinforced concrete deck and integrated flotation system, it was pile-fixed to ensure minimal movement and reliable vessel berthing under varying conditions.

Outcome

Successfully delivered a robust and efficient transport interface, improving ferry access and event logistics. The terminal enhanced public transport capability while maintaining high safety and durability standards in a high-traffic marine environment.
